Our children are supposed to get 60 minutes of activity each day, and the recommendation is that 30 of those minutes come during the school day. A 2016 conducted by Tufts University indicates that only 15% of children are active for 60 minutes, and that only 8% get 30 minutes during the school day.
genHkids’ Move More programs are taking steps in schools throughout Sangamon County to get kids moving during the school day, and to educate, encourage and empower them to get more active outside of school. Moving more not only helps reduce the chance of serious health conditions, it has other benefits, including academically, behaviorally and socially. genHkids has brought Brain Breaks, JumpStart, Recess Toolbox, and Move More After School to thousands of area children!
